Virsa Pakistan was founded with a deep passion for reviving and promoting the arts, crafts, and culture of Pakistan. At the heart of this initiative is Mr. Faisal Latif, a dedicated Pakistani who envisions empowering artisans and craftsmen who have long been neglected. Over the last three decades, the handicraft industry in Pakistan has faced significant challenges. Artisans and small-scale producers were overlooked, leading to the drastic downfall of this once-thriving industry. Many talented individuals lost their businesses and jobs, with little to no support programs to help them rebuild.
The rise of unplanned urbanization further diminished the classic era of quality handmade products, replacing them with cheap, mass-produced alternatives. Meanwhile, international markets, particularly in the West, have shown a growing appreciation for authentic handicrafts and are willing to pay premium prices for these unique products.
Unfortunately, intermediaries have reaped most of the benefits, leaving artisans with little to no profit.
Virsa Pakistan was established as a support platform to bridge this gap—helping artisans reclaim their rightful place in the industry by providing them access to markets, resources, and opportunities. Our goal is to revive the class, quality, and heritage of Pakistani handicrafts while ensuring fair trade and sustainable livelihoods for the artisans.
Virsa Pakistan is managed by a dynamic team committed to this mission:
